I wish to congratulate NEMA for the enforcement of noise pollution controls in Nairobi. I reside in Langata and the noise from the bars in Kibera was a headache until you enforced the new controls. It was a nightmare. My neighbours and I were helpless. It was also unhealthy to withstand all that noise. Now my children are able to do homework and enjoy a night's sleep. However, on some days, the clubs, especially around Bombolulu and Garage add the volume of the music after midnight. Please provide a surveillance service and a hotline where the public can report such lapses.
Thank you and may you continue the good work. Let's pray that some politicians will not derail the initiative against noise due to their selfish interest such as business in bars or matatus.
