Writing for Kenya online publications discussion

A topic of discussion? With the advent of media convergence and online publishing; should journalism training institutions change the course content to emphasize publishing technology?

My opinion is that the fundamentals of journalism remain the same; write a good story and it will find a publisher. Software and computer skills are just tools. Write a compelling story. Do not worry if you can't work with publishing softwares yet. If I were you, I would learn to write a good story first. Whether or not it will be published online comes later. We will cross the bridge when we get there.
